Rebecca Osterhout, Ph.D.
Rebecca Osterhout is a fully licensed psychologist. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Dr. Osterhout completed her internship with the Southwest Consortium internship in 2009 and served as a postdoctoral fellow specializing in Post-traumatic Stress Disorder at the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care System until 2011. Prior to becoming an affiliate at the Ann Arbor Center for the Family, Dr. Osterhout served as the Supervisor of the Outpatient Mental Health clinic at the New Mexico VA.
Dr. Osterhout works with adults and couples and utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy approaches and integrative behavioral couples therapy. Psychotherapy is inherently an interpersonal relationship that can only succeed in the context of trust and mutual respect. Therefore, Dr. Osterhout is flexible in her approach to psychotherapy and strives to find the best fit between a client’s needs and her therapeutic approach.
Dr. Osterhout genuinely enjoys working with both individuals and couples to improve their overall sense of well-being and satisfaction in their life. She works with a wide variety of therapeutic issues, including but not limited to, adjustment to life transitions, bereavement, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, depressive disorders, substance abuse, and couple distress.
Dr. Osterhout participates with BCBS PPO and BCBS Traditional plans.
