Lori Lichtman, Psy.D.
Lori Lichtman has been affiliated with the Ann Arbor Center for the Family since August, 2000. She holds a Psy.D. degree (Doctor of Clinical Psychology) from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago and is a licensed clinical psychologist. Her current general practice includes therapy with children, adolescents, college students, and adults, in addition to Deaf clients and their family members.
She was a post doctoral fellow (2 years) and assistant to the director (one year) of University Center for the Child and Family, a pre-doctoral and postdoctoral training program at the University of Michigan. She also was a therapist at McAuley Outpatient Behavioral Services at St. Joseph Hospital for two years.
Dr. Lichtman’s approach is integrative and strength-based and, depending on the needs of the clients, might incorporate family systems, insight-oriented, narrative, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. She works with a range of therapy issues with children and adolescents, including anxiety, behavioral concerns, and depression. She also works with college students and adults with anxiety and/or depression symptoms, life transitions, loss, managing stress, parenting concerns, divorce issues, facilitating parent-child relationships, and pre and post natal adjustment. She has extensive experience with Deaf clients and family members, communicating in American Sign Language.
Participates with BCBS PPO, Federal BCBS, MESSA, and Medicare.
