Erin McKenna, LMSW

Erin McKenna is a licensed clinical social worker. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, couples and families who seek therapy for a variety of issues. These may include anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, behavioral issues, grief, adjustment to divorce, relationship problems and parenting challenges. Ms McKenna uses a collaborative, client centered approach, drawing from evidenced based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems, play therapy and mindfulness. Work with young children often involves play, creative expression and parent guidance along with collaboration with school and other providers. Work with adolescents and adults is collaborative, integrative and tailored to individual interests and goals.

Ms McKenna received her Masters degree in Social work from Portland State University in 2001. She completed a postgraduate fellowship at the University of Michigan’s Center for the Child and Family (UCCF) working with children from 3-18, parents/ guardians and providing couples therapy. Ms McKenna facilitated groups for grieving children at Ele’s Place in Ann Arbor and has experience working with children who have been abused and those exposed to interpersonal violence in their families. Ms McKenna is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Ms McKenna offers sessions in person and via telehealth. Ms McKenna participates with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and can provide documentation for her clients as an out-of-network provider for other insurance companies.
