Ann Arbor Center for the Family provides counseling, therapy, and mediation for individuals (adults, children, adolescents), couples, and families.

Process Group for Therapists

This group is open to psychotherapists, dance and movement therapists, art therapists, and any health professional engaged in the healing arts where the focus of their work is in helping others put thoughts and feelings into words.

This group addresses the special needs of the professional therapist by paying attention to nuances of thoughts and feelings as they arise among the members during the discussion of participants' case material. It is through this largely ‘here and now’ approach that people learn to gain access to unwanted thoughts and feelings and relate more honestly and openly without crippling fear or guilt. As a result, participants can develop increased skill in the managing of inevitable transferences and counter transferences that develop in the course of the therapists' own professional work.
